We're all about kids falling in love with
science. You see, science is fun and
interesting. It doesn't have to be hard,
intimidating, or boring. Too many people
assume the worst about science, so kids hear the
"bad" things about science, and shy away from
it. But science education is CRITICAL to
all of us.
Read why! But most
elementary school teachers need help with
science.
Read why!
So we make science
something kids look forward to. Its fun,
but they really
remember what we teach them, and we teach them
what they'll be tested on when the state
standardized tests come. Of course, we
don't tell the students that. They just
feel good that they know more and more about
science, and they apply the science in their own
lives.
A
funny story.
The fifth graders went off to camp, and after a
long day, they were HUNGRY. But when they
tasted the apple juice, YUK. But they were
hungry. What to do? Then one of them
remembered the S is for science session about
the senses, and an experiment they had done.
They remembered that much of our "taste" is
actually smell. They remembered that they
couldn't tell jelly bellies apart with their
nose pinched closed. So the girls all pinched
their noses, and drank the apple juice. Hunger
satiated, and bad taste avoided. That's applied
science.
In
Junior High and High School, they'll get
science. If they approach it with a positive
attitude, they'll be leagues ahead. And they
might just love it so much that they make a
career out of it. Then who knows. Maybe your
child will find the cure for cancer, or end our
dependence on fossil fuels, or put men on Mars.
Hey, we need a lot of scientists hard at work,
discovering new things to make our lives better.
We
provide tools for teachers who teach science during the day to elementary
school kids. Our Plug and Play
Elementary Level Science Lessons & Hands-on Kits are custom
filmed and made by Mrs. S, a master science
teacher. In each lesson, students see Mrs.
S teach a lesson, then Mrs. S walks the teacher
and their students through the hands on portion
utilizing the kit supplied by us. There is
no preparation for teachers at all -- just play
the video and open and pass out the contents in
the hands-on box. All instructions needed
are shown on the video and are simple to follow.
There is also vocabulary section, an assessment,
and a review on each video. For a quick video
orientation and more about this,

This
all started when Mrs. S did a science party for
her
son's fifth birthday.
We've been at this for a while. Read more about
our
history. To learn more about

We also offer Family
Science Night and Family Engineering Night
in the San Francisco Bay Area.
